Gyeongju

A City Full of History and Museums

There is no place like Gyeongju, where you can trace the full history of a dynasty. As the capital city of the Silla Dynasty, which lasted about 1,000 years from 57BC to 935AD, Gyeongju is a unique city with all the traces of a long history and culture. With its precious relics which still contain a memorable history, and as a representative historical and cultural city, Gyeongju, dating back 1,000 years, is a perfect place to travel back in time.

Anapji (Anap Pond)
This man-made pond was created during the Shilla Dynasty approximately 1,500 years ago. Three buildings stand on three artificial islands while patches of lotus flowers frame the pond. Gorgeous exterior lighting that go on after sunset create a magical night view. 

Bulguksa Temple
Bulguksa Temple is the representative relic of Gyeongju and was designated as a World Cultural Asset by UNESCO in 1995. The beauty of the temple itself and the artistic touch of the stone relics are known throughout the world.

Seokguram Grotto
Seokguram, located on Tohamsan Mountain, is the representative stone temple of Korea. The official name of Seokguram, National Treasure No. 24, is Seokguram Seokgul. Designated as a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1995, it is an artificial stone temple made of granite.
